Breaking the rules
While it’s important, as a rule, to follow the brand guidelines, there may be some cases where it’s okay to bend them, as long as you do so thoughtfully and intentionally, and with a clear rationale for why it’s necessary — but only when it serves the brand.
Areas where it’s usually allowed include swag, community events, and internal communications. These can be fun and playful, and it’s a space where we can experiment with the brand in ways that we wouldn’t in more formal communications. If you’re designing something like a t-shirt, sticker, or other piece of swag, you have more freedom to bend the rules — as long as the design still feels like it belongs to the Pulumi family.
